- What counts as an active chatter?
- An active chatter is a unique user ID that sent at least one text chat message, or received one in a 1:1 direct conversation, during the billing month. Recipients of broadcast or announcement channels never count — one marketing blast to 10,000 users adds zero active chatters. Registered users who never chat also do not count. This keeps pricing predictable for consumer apps, marketplaces, and delivery platforms.
- What counts as a text chat message?
- Text chat means written messages sent through the Sendsar API in channels and DMs. Every message is counted once per send, never per recipient — a message to a 50-person group counts as 1 message, not 50. Edits, system events, and webhooks do not count. Text chat is separate from voice call and video call minutes.
- How are voice and video call minutes counted?
- Call allowances are participant-minutes, the industry-standard way real-time infrastructure is measured. Each person in a call consumes minutes for the time they are connected: a 3-person voice call that lasts 10 minutes uses 30 voice participant-minutes. On Free, you get 30 voice and 15 video participant-minutes per month, and calls pause when an allowance is used up. On paid plans, extra participant-minutes are billed at the per-minute rates shown for your plan.
- What happens if we exceed included text chat messages?
- On Plus and Pro, conversations never stop: extra messages are billed automatically at $1 per 10,000 additional messages. On Free, new outbound text chat is paused until the next billing cycle or an upgrade — Free has no overage billing.
- What happens if we exceed our active chatter limit?
- On paid plans, we never block your end-users mid-month. If you exceed your active chatter allowance, chat keeps working — we notify you and work out an upgrade to the right plan. On Free, the 200-chatter limit is a hard cap.
- How does call recording work?
- Call recording is available on Plus and Pro with a monthly allowance of recording minutes; extra minutes are billed at your plan's per-minute rate. Recording files count toward your plan's storage quota and are kept for 30 days on Plus and 90 days on Pro — download them to keep them longer. Enterprise retention is custom.
- What are concurrent connections?
- Concurrent connections is the maximum simultaneous WebSocket connections for text chat in your workspace — an infrastructure guardrail on shared infrastructure, not a billing meter. Voice and video calls are tracked by participant-minutes, not by a concurrent call cap.
- Can we save with annual billing?
- Yes. Pay annually and save 20% on the base plan versus monthly billing — $46/year on Plus, $118/year on Pro. Included text chat, voice call, video call, and call recording allowances are part of the base plan.
- When should we talk to sales?
- Choose Enterprise when you need dedicated infrastructure, private cloud or self-hosted deployment in your region, custom webhook routing to CRMs or local SMS providers, custom voice and video call rates, or contract terms tailored to your organization.
